Why is it that brunch is commonly reserved for Mother's Day? Father's like a good brunch and a nice cup of coffee on a patio or in a comfy booth just as much as our moms did. Here are some hearty brunch menu recommendations to get you thinking about where to bring Dad for his well-deserved Sunday brunch this June 17th.

We think it's pretty cool that Make Music Vancouver 2012 takes place right in the middle of the United Nations Rio + 20 Earth Summit, and everyone involved is doing their best to make the event easy on the planet. We will be recycling just about everything and offering free bike valet service. Events can sometimes produce a lot of waste and greenhouse gases, but not Make Music Vancouver!

Opening this June 16th at 452 West Cordova is the new L'Atelier Home, a concept furniture store that focuses on offering rare quality pieces at exceptional prices. "[The idea] started with this habit I had of changing my furniture around every few months," owner and designer Linda Levi laughs, "and then realizing that prices are so outrageous sometimes for the quality that I liked and the style that I liked." From there, she began reupholstering, painting, and sanding vintage wares, up-cycling classic pieces and breathing new life into them.

We are all in a similar mood these spring days. It's time to shed some layers and restock your closet with bright colors, t-shirts, and shorts - all the things we love about summer. We felt particularly inspired when we scanned through Neighbour's Spring/Summer look book, shot on location at Sit and Read in Brooklyn, New York by photographer Ken Tisuthiwongse. It's fresh, simple, and warm - just like the summer days and nights to come. We chatted briefly with Saager from Neighbour about the shoot and their spring arrivals.
