The two have just returned from their fall buying trip and are extremely excited about their picks from the fall color swatches: deep, rich blues with accents of silk gold. “It’s a royal palette,” says Collette, and a perfect option for the darkening days, especially when paired with glass votives. Collette explains that the asymmetrical three-to-five rule need not apply here. With smaller accents like votives, she instead suggests using more of these affordable pieces, allowing them to become more of a statement piece in your home.

The fashion industry and the furniture industry are always in dialogue when it comes to aesthetic trends, which explains the other big trends for fall: metallic features and intricate or clever graphics. Colette and Craig sourced out graphic rugs with Greek keys in warm yellows and blues and - another must-have - typeface accent pillows and throws. To use metallic accenting while keeping it on the warmer side, Colette shares a personal tip of using clear glass candles against mirrored surfaces to create a similar effect.

Her pick of the crop is the George Sofa. Easy to dress up with accent colors, “There’s the option to make this sofa a double sleeper, so it’s perfect for small condos that get the occasional overnight guest. It also comes in hundreds of other fabrics and the cushion covers zip off for easy laundering. I have this fabric on a similar sectional at home and it’s pretty much spill proof.”

Another exciting arrival for fall is their Market Collection. Parliament is creating a mini-department that will be a curation of interesting finds: industrial, organic and raw materials, mid-century modern pieces in vintage blues. Because, remember, there is nothing like a new accent piece to make a statement and refresh your space.
