How much fun were you having around 5 o'clock last Wednesday? If you were down in Gastown, chances are good that are you were feeling the intense winds of hundreds of professional and amateur cyclists racing by you at 65 kilometres an hour. As one cyclist told the Vancouver Courier, "you just have to race Gastown".

The crowd was estimated at 35,000 -  of first-time and lifelong bike fans came down to watch Ken Hanson from Santa Barbara, California edge past Vancouver's Ryan Anderson in the last sprint of the men's crit of 50 breathtaking laps around Water Street and Cordova. There was an intense last minute sprint and some wild spills. On the women's side, Loren Rowney from Gold Coast, Australia took the purse of the Global Relay Grandprix.

Check out some of the great race, photo, and video coverage of this race last week. Don't miss it next year!
