We are happy to say that we have one of the most eco-friendly furniture stores in Canada, right here in Gastown. For Montauk, this comes first and always has. The quality and beauty of their designs seems to radiate from their pieces, and we might even go so far as to say that all this good energy that they've put into the earth makes their stunning collection look even better. Check out their fantastic party for IDSWest this past Saturday as Ivan, manager of Montauk's new location on Abbott Street shares, in his own words, the break down of six pillars of Montauk's eco-philosophy.

ONE "We use only natural materials in the fabrication (or manufacture) of Montauk sofas, such as natural latex foam, kiln dried maple wood, waterfowl down and feathers."
TWO "The maple wood used for the frames is grown in sustainably managed forests. Clients also have the choice of using reclaimed material."
THREE "The frames are assembled with corner blokes and screws, no adhesives are used."
FOUR "All of the natural materials we use can be composted with no contaminants."
FIVE "Our manufacturing process has been carbon free since 2006."
SIX "Our waste minimization program extends beyond the manufacturing and recycling process. We built sofas that stand the test of time in style, comfort and construction."
