With 25 seats, Lily Mae's will be an intimate setting for dining in. But Jefkins and Tencha are working to create a menu that caters to the working kind in Gastown: a grab-n-go fridge with rustic comfort foods: ready-made salads, sandwiches and soups. The menu has just been launched online here. "We want the space to be approachable, we want the food to be approachable," says Jefkins, "We want it to feel like a throwback to a Ma 'n Pa neighbourhood place where you come in and they know your name." Speaking of names, the restaurant is named after Jefkins' very own Ma, Lily Mae, who we are told is, among other things, a very fabulous baker.
