This Weekend: Blarney Stone 40th Anniversary WeekendBack in 1972, The Blarney Stone opened its doors in the Town and Robinson Block in Gastown, a cornerstone heritage buildling in Historic Gastown. Back in those days, The Blarney Stone was the first true Irish pub of its kind to open in Vancouver. Since then, this 19th century relic has been restored and revitalized. It's a space with old world charm and new world amenities (a wicked sound system and flat screen televisions, to name a few). All in all, The Blarney has come a long way, so this weekend, you're invited to spend Saturday and Sunday celebrating it's 40 years of Irish (and Gastown) pride. With so much going on all day and night, you might find it hard to leave.

Scott Hawthorne talks Cherries, Wine, and his Picker Shack OrchardEver wonder why those cherries and fruit tasted so good at Salt Tasting Room, Judas Goat, and The Irish Irish Heather? It's because they are supplied by Scott Hawthorne, part-owner of Salt Tasting Room and Judas Goat, from his B.C. orchard. We talk to Scott about his B.C.-local, land-friendly produce from his very own Picker Shack Orchard in Naramata, B.C. and much more.
