Bruce Eyewear has seven years of expertise in dressing up your face. Nada Vuksic and her multi-talented staff are masters of the ins and outs of eyewear dressing; the slender store curated with drawers and drawers of unique one-off glasses and sunglasses that are often handmade and hard to find. Nada gave us a little break down last week of the art of finding a perfect pair (or three) and some of the frame trends this season.

The designer eyeglass industry is truly a place where science meets fashion; it is a product bound in utility, with a definite set of rules to fit and wear. But beyond that, the creative possibilities are endless. To be sure, stop by Bruce and ask to see Jeremy Scott’s iconic eyeglasses: these peek-a-boo frames consist of two alien-like hands coyishly covering your eyes.

“There is always a parallel with the fashion industry in what we do,” explains Nada, “and we believe in an eyeglass wardrobe.” This means glasses suitable for daytime activities, evening events, and weekends. Nada emphasizes shopping for glasses as a signature part of your everyday look or as an accessory to perfectly suit certain occasions.

Glasses, of course, have timeless charm when you find the right pair, but popular trends still come and go. There has been a surge in interest for raw and natural materials - an aesthetic informed by 1920s tortoise shell and horn frame. GOLD + WOOD is a leader in creating finished, classic, and natural specs and their newly arrived fall frames are stunning. Why not go for diamonds? The Leisure Society specializes in creating investment pieces; these handmade glasses are meticulously crafted, with only six made each day, using fine titanium, ruthenium, and platinum metals.
