Parvaneh, owners of Artemisia, and Linda, owner of L'Atelier Home
"I always had a vision to have a store with furniture and clothes," says Parvaneh, "I'd been looking for a space in Gastown for some time." Together, with a complimenting aesthetics and a shared love for great style, the duo's project moved along smoothly. Artemisia is focusing on US and European designs, as well as local finds: pieces that are feminine and soft, with a touch of something different.
Both owners have a love with pieces with a romantic feel and their ideas blend beautifully. L'Atelier's distinguising French provincial, beach-cottage, shabby chic feel to their decor seems like a perfect fit with Artemisia's racks of unique and playful items, that are both casual and dressy.
"Artemisia was a very powerful, independent, athletic woman," says Parvaneh, "She caught my eye. Her name means the speaker of truth."
"It's like entering a different feeling," says Linda. The launch for the new shared space will be this Friday evening, February 1st (from 5-9) with little treats and surprises.
