How to Spend an Eclectic Day in Gastown

The most exciting aspect to Gastown is the diversity in the neighbourhood. There's an incredible range of creative businesses, each offering something unique, so we thought we would share a guide highlighting which places to explore for an eclectic day in Gastown. Here are our suggestions.

Founded by the Giannakos brothers, Revolver, brings a truly unique experience to Vancouver coffee enthusiasts. Recently, they have expanded Revolver’s space, opening a new room next door called Archive. We sat down with George Giannakos to discuss the concept of Archive, changes in the local coffee scene, and how to make the best cup of coffee you’ve ever had.

There is more creative talent in the neighbourhood! Vancouver Film School’s new Animation & Visual Effects campus has officially opened in Gastown. The new 42,000 square-foot facility takes over the site from the former Storyeum with a complete redesign of the building, turning the space into a state-of-the-art animation school. We sat down with Managing Director, Marty Hasselbach, to get insight on the new campus and upcoming plans for Vancouver Film School.

The "cool" T-shirt movement is continuing to make a presence. Walk around the neighbourhood and you’ll find plenty of tees with amazing graphics, many of which are designed right here in Vancouver. We thought we would give a shout out to one-of-a-kind T-shirts designed in the city, found in Gastown. Check out the list.
