Named after its location on the waterfront. At high tide the water from Burrard Inlet used to cover parts of Water Street. Now it host the longest stretch of shops and dining in Gastown. Walk past the whistling Steam Clock and take in the sights of Vancouver’s original neighbourhood.
History
Just off Water street is Blood Alley. No one really knows where the name Blood Alley came from but our best guess ties back to the butchers and meat markets that used to inhabit the area. Today there are plenty of fabulous restaurants and pubs surrounding this alley – even for Vegetarians and Vegans. The irony, we know.Business
